Tinka is terribly bored. So the little princess decides to sneak into the castle’s forbidden cellar. There, she discovers something astonishing: an old dragon dozing atop a huge pile of books! His name is Patu, and he’s a guardian of stories. But unfortunately he keeps falling asleep, so lately lots of books have gone missing. This gives Tinka an idea: Patu can tell her stories to keep himself awake, and together they can find out who’s behind the disappearances. The dragon thinks this is a great plan, and tells tales of fearless pirate children searching for treasure, of a courageous rabbit, and of a mermaid and her heart’s desire. The stories are so exciting, Tinka almost forgets about the book thief...
